Uganda is Quickly Approaching

Thursday, March 13th, 2008

Wow, the last few weeks have just flown by as my schedule has been so busy with friends, traveling, work, and also preparing for Uganda. I have felt the prayers of many of you over these last weeks. With the estimated departure date being April 1st, that gives me approximately two weeks before I leave.

I am continuing to work at Dollar General until about a week before I leave for Uganda. When I am not working I have found myself spending time with people for possibly the last time. I have been completely blown away by how God has been just orchestrating my time and my days. Closure is so important for me and I have been so blessed with how God has been letting me spend moments with people.

Chris Kleman and I went down to Asbury to see the missionaries down there and I was able to have great times of fun and laughter as well as good conversations with the missionary kids down for what could be the last time in a long time. Since returning from Asbury I found out that a friend of mine wants to buy me a flight down to North Carolina to see my friends Dan and Stephanie Freemyer. I am just humbled by the way in which God is just ordaining my time with others and lining things up in ways that I never could.

I do appreciate you who have responded to the letters through prayer and also by giving financially. I am somewhere around ΒΌ funded. I am praying that the funds will come in so that I can leave on time. I know that whether it is April 1st or May 1st I will be leaving in God’s timing. I will be flying out of Atlanta whenever I do leave and I am so grateful that I will be able to spend my last moments and days with my brother and sister, Derek and Angela Hooley.

I thought the learning and stretching (spiritually) started when I got to Uganda, but I am learning that God has things to teach me here and now. God is breaking me of short comings in my life and filling me with things of Him. There is more to in my next blog of just how God is teaching me and leading me in these days.
